The Cisco SPA 500 Series Desktop IP Phones are an excellent entry-level IP phone. They are full featured and very inexpensive. Featuring 802.11af standard Power over Ethernet support, deploying the SPA 500 phones is quick and easy. A backlit screen, speaker phone, multi-function line keys, and intercom are some of the other features. All models may also be connected to up to two additional Cisco SPA 500S attendant consoles to give up to an additional 64 speed dial or busy lamp field buttons. Phones come in one, four, eight, and twelve line key models.

  1. Handset - This is the handset.
  2. Voicemail Indicator Light - Lights up red when you have a voicemail.
  3. LCD Screen - Shows information about calls, messages, softkeys, time, date, and other relevant information.
  4. Line Soft Keys - Multifunction keys that can be programmed to act as call apperances, busy lamp field, or speed dial.
  5. Soft Keys - Context-sensitive keys that perform different functions based on what is displayed on the screen.
  6. Navigation Buttons - Use these to navigate the various menus and features of your phone.
  7. Messages Button - Press to access the voicemail system.
  1. Hold Button - Places the current call on hold.
  2. Settings Button - Press to access the settings menu.
  3. Mute Button - Press to mute the microphone.
  4. Volume Control - Control the volume levels of speaker phone, handset, or headset.
  5. Headset Button - Press to activate the headset.
  6. Speaker Phone Button - Press to activate the speaker phone.
  7. Dial Pad - Same as traditional telephone.
